Hispanics in Mining (hereinafter, “HIM”, “HispanoMine”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy, and support a general policy of openness about how we collect, use and disclose your Personal Information (as defined below).

(a) Your names, surnames, gender, personal and work contact details (such as address, phone number, e-mail address), business title;
(b) Information, feedback or content you provide regarding your interests or marketing preferences in our email sign up form or surveys;
(c) Information that your web browser sends whenever you visit our Website (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.
3. How we may use, collect or disclose your Personal Information
We may use, collect or disclose your Personal Information to:
(a) register you in our events and manage our guest lists provided you have filled out our registration form;
(b) communicate about, and administer your participation in, events, programs, surveys, subject to your consent;
(c) verify your identity and prevent fraud;
(d) administer general record keeping;
(e) bill you for our events and services and collect payment;
(f) meet legal and regulatory requirements;
(g) send you our newsletters and information that may be of interest to you, subject to your consent;
(h) develop and maintain our relationship with you and communicate with you;
(i) perform data analyses and conduct other research (such as market and user research and trend analysis) to develop, manage, protect and improve our Website, and business (including analyzing the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising).
If you have subscribed to HIM’s emailing list or newsletters, we may also use (but will not disclose) your Personal Information to contact or send you relevant information based on your subscription preferences. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link embedded at the HIM’s email communications.
4. When we may disclose your Personal Information
(b) We reserve the right to disclose Personal Information to a third party if a law, regulation, court order, search warrant, or subpoena legally requires or authorizes us to do so. We also reserve the right to retain Personal Information collected and to process such Personal Information to comply with accounting and tax rules and regulations and any specific record retention laws.
5. How we protect, retain and maintain your Personal Information
HIM makes commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that your Personal Information is protected against loss, theft and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. This protection applies in relation to information stored in both electronic and hard copy form. Access to your Personal Information is restricted to selected personnel. In addition, we are committed to ensuring the security of your Personal Information and may use passwords, encryption, firewalls, restricted employee access or other methods, in our discretion. We will use appropriate security measures when destroying your Personal Information such as shredding documents or deleting electronically stored information, in our discretion.
We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that your Personal Information is accurate and complete. You may request correction to your Personal Information to ensure its accuracy and completeness – please see section 9 Contacting Us. A request must be in writing and provide sufficient detail to identify your Personal Information and the correction being sought.
6. Your consent
HIM collects Personal Information about you only when you voluntarily provide it. You may always choose what Personal Information (if any) you wish to provide to us. However, if you choose not to provide certain details, some of your experiences with us may be affected (for example, we cannot register you to an event without a name).
We will not, as a condition of the supply of a service, require you to consent to the collection, use or disclosure of information beyond that required to fulfill the explicitly specified and legitimate purposes for which the information is being provided.
We will seek consent for the use or disclosure of your Personal Information at the time of collection. You can provide consent orally, in writing, electronically or through an authorized representative. In certain circumstances, consent may be sought after the information has been collected but before use (for example, when we want to use information for a purpose not previously identified, when is required by law or in an emergency situation that threatens an individual’s life, health or personal security). The form of consent that we seek, including whether it is express or implied, will largely depend on the sensitivity of the Personal Information and the reasonable expectations of the individual in the circumstances.
Our website does not address users under the age of 18 (“Minors”). We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from Minors. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Minor has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us – see section 9 below. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from Minors without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our files and servers.
